The Aims of IMAC U.K.

Our main aim is to promote the competition flying, in several different classes, of scale model aerobatic aircraft in sequences  of aerobatic manoeuvres as flown by their full size counterparts. The aircraft must be scale but can be of any size (Basic class models must be under 70" span) and can use either electric or I.C. power. The above mentioned classes vary in their degree of difficulty newcomers starting at an easy level (Basic)  and progressing by results attained on to the higher classes ( Sportsman's Intermediate Advanced and Unlimited)  All pilots must have a BMFA "B" certificate to fly at our competitions. I hope this gives you some idea of what we're about and may whet your appetite to come and join us, practicing for and taking part in our competitions really does sharpen your flying, so come and have a go you'll get plenty of help and encouragement we're a friendly bunch.

2014 World Championship

2014_Worlds_2

The IMAC Board of Directors has labored for the past 11 months discussing, initial planning, and can now make an official announcement. The IMAC organization (USA), which is now 38 years old (started in 1974), is the “standard bearer” for Scale Aerobatics world-wide. At present we have 15 countries flying Scale Aerobatics using AMA’s Scale Aerobatics rules and also using IMAC’s Unknowns system on a weekly basis. The Board of Directors believes IMAC is ready to initiate an international event which will bring all of the countries flying Scale Aerobatics together to compete.

The 2014 IMAC World Championship will be held on September 2-6, 2014 at the AMA Headquarters in Muncie Indiana. The event will run using the 2013-2014 Scale Aerobatics Rules with Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced, and Unlimited classes competing for the International team and individual awards.

More details will be annouced regarding UK team selection in due course.
